HA27 shows three villi (v) and the crypts (c) or infoldings between them. A capillary and a lacteal are at the center of the villus at the top. The submucosa (s) is dark pink and very thin in this image. There are abundant small lymphocytes (small dark nuclei) in the lamina propria.
