In these micrographs, it appears that some muscle cells have hollow centers, so they are called myotubes. The arrow in HA2 indicates a myotube in cross section. In other cells, the red nuclei fill the center. Areas without cells are the forming perimysium that borders clusters of cells in a fascicle. In some adult muscle diseases, myotubes are found.
