There are two longitudinal sections of adult calf muscle in this image (HA3) - the pink one is stained with H&E, and the blue-grey one is stained with iron hematoxylin. In both sections, the myofibers are long (running from the Achilles’ tendon in the heel to the inside of the knee) and are tightly packed together in parallel.
