This montage shows examples of the three morphological types of neurons. At the left is a multipolar neuron, similar to those shown in HA2 and HA3. In this image you can see 4 processes coming directly of the neuron cell body. The center image is a unipolar neuron in a ganglion of the peripheral nervous system (PNS). A portion of the single axon is present as a clear area in the cell. The image at the right is a bipolar neuron. A single dendrite that branches several times is present at the top of the image. The cell body is central, and the axon is below.
