HA19: Isthmus and intramural portions of the oviduct, human H&E
As the oviduct penetrates the wall of the uterus (HA19, o) the folds of the mucosa decrease further in complexity. The epithelium is still composed of ciliated cells and peg cells. The intramural portion of the oviduct is surrounded by the extensive muscular wall of the uterus.
