HA34

Ha34l
HA34 is a high magnification EM of mitochondria located next to a nucleus. Mitochondria have a characteristic outer membrane and inner membrane (cristae). Mitochondria come in many sizes and shapes, and can divide and grow independently of cell division. In Human Biochemistry, you will learn about the metabolic pathways in mitochondria that provide ATP to cells. These organelles also regulate key elements in the process of apoptosis. To synthesize what you are learning, what three cell organelles have double membranes? (Hint: the third organelle is involved in recycling and apoptosis.)
