This image, HA4, is 90 degrees to HA3. The myonuclei are all found at the periphery, just under the sarcolemma. The ratio of nuclei to sarcoplasm is now very low compared to HA2. The myofibers are large (30 – 60 um in diameter). Because of the way in which they are packed together, not all of the myofibers, approximately 7 in this image, are sectioned along their full diameter. At the bottom of the image perimysium can be seen.
