At higher magnification in HA11, the marrow is still relatively cellular with little fat accumulation, indicative of immature bones. Trabeculae form supportive struts that prevent the two plates of bone from collapsing into the marrow cavity. Since the bone is still thin, haversian canals have not yet formed.
