HA3

Bone03o
The vessels within the Haversian canals enter the bone through a Volkmann's canal (HA3), which perforates the bone at the periosteal or endosteal surface. Note that you can identify the endosteum in this image by the white fat in the marrow. The vessels within the Volkmann’s canal form branches when they meet Haversian canals that travel longitudinally through the bone.
