At high magnification, which permits you to see individual cells, note the numerous granulocytes in the medullary sinus (HA16). Because there was bleeding nearby this node, the macrophages contain phagosomes of ingested RBCs particles called hemosiderin. The medullary sinus is where the main filtering (bulk antigen removal) of the lymph takes place.
