This image is from a rat that had received an intravenous injection of the dye, trypan blue. This was done to study the distribution of macrophages that phagocytosed the dye. HA19 shows a low magnification image of the liver from this animal. The tiny blue dots (arrows) that can barely be seen are liver macrophages, Kupffer cells.
