HA22
HA22 is an example of fibrocartilage, which resembles dense connective tissue because of its large collagen I fibers. Look at the tissue to get an overall impression of the woven arrangement of collagen bundles (HA22). The woven collagen bundles reinforce the cartilage and allow it to withstand the compressive pressures at the knee. Some bundles are parallel to the plane of section, while others are oblique. Typically you can only see a few of these linearly arranged chondrocytes between the dense type I collagen bundles before they leave the plane of section (HA22).
