This section was taken from an animal that had received an injection of Trypan Blue. This dye attaches to serum albumin, is recognized as foreign, and is phagocytosed by macrophages. In the liver (HA12), the Trypan Blue was ingested by cells lining the sinusoids (capillaries). These liver resident macrophages are called Kupffer cells (arrowheads).
