The next three images show the early secretory stage of the menstrual cycle (day 16). At this stage the endometrium has completely regenerated. The glands are more numerous and the stroma is denser than they are at day 10 (HA20 & 21). HA22 is a low magnification image of the entire thickness of the endometrium (e) and a portion of the myometrium (m). At the upper left is a submucosal fibroid (sf) of the uterus, a non-cancerous tumor of smooth muscle. You may find examples of this in female cadavers.
