HA32: Ileum, cat, PAS, Hematoxylin
HA32 is a high magification image of the absorptive epithelium which is found throughout the small intestine on both the villi and the crypts. It shows mostly enterocytes (absorptive cells, arrows) interspersed with goblet cells (*). Small lymphocytes are present between the epithelial cells. This stain highlights the microvillous surface, the glycocalyx, terminal bars, and terminal web (HA32, Epithelium HA5).
