HA10: Submandibular gland, H&E
In some places the intralobular ducts are prominent because they have shrunk away from the thin connective tissue sheaths that surround them (HA10 I). The four intralobular ducts are striated . The basal infoldings of the cell membrane have pushed the nuclei of the duct cells into the middle or apex of the cells. Intercalated ducts (see HA13) are also present, but cannot be seen here.
