HA9 is a sagittal (longitudinal) section through the testis (T) in a very low magnification LM. This image shows most of the testis and a portion of the epididymus (E) which runs dorsally on the testis. In LMs at such a low magnification, individual cells and nuclei cannot be distinguished. Sections of this type can usually be distinguished without the aid of a microscope.
This micrograph and the next two LMs illustrate the principle that cell detail and the size of the nuclei can be used to judge if the images are low, medium or high magnification.
